I built Gambill Data’s consulting practice by being good at this work. Coaching is me helping you get good at it too — on your own timeline, for your own career. It’s its own practice: it makes you better at your job, not a way into Gambill Data’s client work.

Coaching tiers are about your growth, not staffing. No tier — including Gold — creates access to Gambill Data client engagements. Those are two different practices, and they stay that way.
Coaching fit call
Book a 20-minute coaching fit call.
Twenty minutes, no pitch. Bring the role, project, portfolio, or career question you are working through. You will leave with a specific recommendation: a tier, a single working session, the app, or an honest “not yet”. Everything is month-to-month with 30 days’ notice.
Not another course
Reps, review, and a straight answer.
- A portfolio project you can defend line-by-line. Not a tutorial clone — something built against a real target role, with the tradeoffs documented well enough to survive a panel asking “why this way and not that way.”
- Mock interviews for the level you’re actually going for. Senior, staff, or consulting-track interviews, run the way hiring panels actually run them, with feedback on the reasoning gap — not “speak more confidently.”
- A resume and LinkedIn that read like someone screened them. Because one has — against real senior data hiring, not a template.
- An honest architecture review of your own work. At the depth a hiring manager or a VP would push on, so you know where your judgment is solid and where it isn’t yet.
- A specific answer to “am I actually ready for this move”. The IC-to-lead jump, the staff promotion, going independent — instead of vague encouragement either direction.

Coaching is designed around the work that makes your readiness visible: the role you are targeting (direction), the evidence you create (projects, code, and tradeoffs instead of course completions), and the judgment you use to explain it (the reasoning behind your decisions, so interviews and higher-stakes conversations are less improvised).

For over a year after graduating, I felt like I was constantly learning but never actually moving forward. I followed endless tutorials, started what felt like 100 different courses, and spent hundreds of dollars on random programs hoping one of them would finally give me the direction I needed. Instead, I ended up stuck in ‘tutorial hell.’ I knew I wanted to build a career in data engineering, but I didn’t have a clear roadmap or know what I should actually be focusing on.
That changed when I started using the Gambill Data Coaching app. The project milestones and resources gave me something I had been missing the entire time: structure and direction.
